Despite what everyone thinks, Paine's not actually a depressing, sad woman. She's an independent spirit who can stick up for herself and will do what she goddamn wants to do. And I don't suppose anyone's noticed Baralai at least attempting to be witty earlier in the game?
But you can never flame the authors...oh well.
If I read another depressing one, I will have to spaz.
If someone could please supply me a link to some half-decent fanfics with great characterisation I'd be eternally grateful.

This made me laugh so hard! I love this. I'm writing Paralai fan fiction and some of it's a little depressing (In the backstory I gave her she was abused as a child in Bevelle orphanage before runing away to join the Crimson squad.......but it gets happier from there.) I am writing a lot of fluffy stories for her though....so you can check that out. I have the same username on Fanfiction.net just look up ReibunRiinta and you'll find me on there. ^_~
